Wing commander Abhinadan handed over to Indian High Commission in Pakistan, soon to return to India

The Pakistani authorities have handed over Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman  to Indian High Commission in Islamabad. Abhinandan is likely to return home after crossing the Attari –Wagha border around 4 pm. The pilot will be first brought to Lahore from where he will enter India through the Wagah-Attari Joint Check Post (JCP).

Abhinandan’s parents – Air Marshal S Varthaman (retd) and mother Shobha Varthaman, doctor by profession, have reached Amritsar to received their son who did the nation proud.

The Indian Air Force has made arrangements to welcome their daredevil Commander. A team of senior IAF official has already reached Amritsar to receive Wing Commander Abhinandan at the Attari JCP. The Punjab police have made elaborated arrangements to maintain law and order on the Attari JCP, claims Parampal Singh SSP Amritsar.

People are quite enthusiastic at Attari in Amritsar where people have gathered to welcome the pilot who was captured two days ago by Pakistan army during an airstrike.

Holding the National Flag and raising patriotic slogans amid drum beating, scores of people from Amritsar and around areas have assembled at the Attari JCP to receive their hero Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.

Even the rain, here, has failed to dampen their spirits, who have reached Attari to welcome their hero.

The excited and eager crowd has arranged for a lot of garlands and flowers to give a warm welcome to Abhinandan. The jubilant people are singing patriotic songs and continuously raising slogans “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and Vande Matram.

Prayers are also been offered at the spot before Abhinandan’s arrival.

Quite a few of the media persons from both India and Pakistan can be seen on either sides of the Attari-Wagha border to capture and telecast this historical moment across the world.  The Attari is wearing a festive look with the enthusiastic people assembling here in large number.
