We can not thrust Constitution on people in democratic country: WB BJP vice president CK Bose

In complete contrast to the West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh’s controversial remarks, the party’s state vice president Chandra Kumar Bose said, “Terror politics has no place in the country,”. While Dilip Ghosh has recently been in news for his controversial remark that the anti-CAA protesters involved in damaging public property should be shot dead "like the same way in Uttar Pradesh".

Countering this statement, the Bengal BJP vice president said, "Just because we have numbers today, we cannot do terror politics".

Bose, while condemning the statement by the BJP president, said, "Our job is to explain to people that we are right and they are wrong. You cannot be abusive. Let reach out to people to explain benefits of the CAA."

“Even though the Citizenship Amendment Act is binding on the state governments after it has been passed as an Act, in a democratic country a law cannot be "thrust on the citizens", he added.

BJP leader CK Bose asserted, "I have suggested to my party leadership that with a little modification the entire opposition campaign will fizzle out. We need to specifically state that it is meant for persecuted minorities without mentioning any religion. Our approach should be different."

His statement comes at a time when the BJP Bengal chief Dilip Ghosh has been spewing controversial and statements one after the other. Much furore raised when he said that those opposing the Act CAA are "spineless, devils and parasites". Before that, he courted controversy saying that the anti-CAA protesters damaging the public property should be shot dead.
