Video suggests poor crowd turnout for PM Modi’s event at Anand, Gujarat

A Twitter handle, which posted frequent and accurate news and updates relating to the Gujarat assembly elections in December 2017, on Sunday, September 30 tweeted a video claiming to be of Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking at the Amul plant in Anand, Gujarat on the same day.

A viewing of the video suggests a poor turnout at the event where PM Modi inaugurated an Amul Chocolate factory. Row upon row of empty chairs can be seen, suggesting less than expected turnout. A screen at the event, visible in the video, seems to show the Prime Minister speaking on stage. Several people can also be seen walking out during the speech. The video can be seen below:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated Amul's "ultra-modern" chocolate plant at Anand. The Prime Minister said Amul was not only about milk processing but it was an excellent model of empowerment. "India is doing well in milk processing but can do even better. The time has come to give importance to innovation and value addition,” said the Prime Minister at Anand, adding that, “We are focussing on Jan Dhan, Van Dhan and Gobar Dhan. This will help our farmers.”
