A video of Puducherry Lt. Governor Kiran Bedi getting locked in a verbal duel with AIADMK MLA Anbazhagan, which marred Gandhi Jayanti celebrations on October 2, has gone viral on social media. The high voltage drama unfolded when Bedi and Anbazhagan were attending an event held to declare Puducherry an open-defecation free state.
Anbazhagan reportedly picked up an argument with Bedi after his microphone was allegedly switched off when he started slamming the Puducherry administration over several burning issues during his keynote address.
Anbazhagan claimed that the mic was deliberately turned off at the behest of Bedi. In the video, the two are seen arguing on the stage. Bedi can be seen asking the AIADMK MLA to leave the stage, which prompted him to then boycott the event. The video can be seen below:

Bedi later tweeted saying, "An MLA’s Mike had to be turned off when he was persistently rejected any request from panel of Hon’ble Ministers to limit his speech. He rejected all appeals. He shouted back. I have seen him do this earlier too. Event was to give away awards for good work done in making Puducherry open defecation-free.”
