UP cop, while standing tall, claims that Vivek Tiwari drove over him 3 times

Uttar Pradesh police constable Prashant Chaudhary, who has been booked for murder after he allegedly shot Apple Inc executive Vivek Tiwari dead in state capital Lucknow in the wee hours of Saturday, September 28, on Saturday evening claimed that the late Tiwari had driven his car over Chaudhary three times with the intention to kill him. Incredibly, Chaudhary, despite claiming such a brutal assault, just hours later did not appear to have any visible signs of injury on his face or arms, which can be seen in the photographs of him tweeted by ANI News, and was standing tall while addressing the media.

Chaudhary further claimed that he did not shoot at Tiwari and the bullet was shot “by mistake”. He demanded that his own FIR be registered.

Chaudhary also claimed that it was being said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath “has told that our case will not be registered. Is there no value of our lives?”.

An Uttar Pradesh constable Prashant Chowdhary was on Saturday, September 28, arrested and booked for murder after he allegedly shot dead a Lucknow-based young executive working with Apple Inc at close range, an official said.

However, Tiwari’s colleague who was sitting him in his vehicle, said that the car hadn’t stopped anywhere and was moving. “Probably, because a girl was sitting with him&the area was Gomtinagar, he (the policeman) came from wrong side and shouted on us. It made no sense,” she said.

Uttar Pradesh DGP OP Singh told media ,“It's an unfortunate incident in which a person was shot dead by two constables. Constable said that he did it under self defence cover but self defence can't exceed the threat perception and we got a case lodged. It is a pure crime."

Earlier on Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said if needed, a CBI inquiry would be ordered into the incident. The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a special investigation team to investigate the case.

Meanwhile Tiwari’s wife Kalpana Tiwari wrote to Adityanath demanding a compensation of ₹1 crore and a job in the police department.
