Swara Bhaskar slams BJP MP for liking a rape threat on Twitter     

Swara Bhasker called out BJP MP Lallu Singh on Twitter on Tuesday when she saw that a disgusting tweet had been liked by him.

According to The Hindu, She said that a small action like just liking that tweet must have given him the validation that he was searching for. In a country where issues like cyber harassment is a serious problem, an MP should not go around liking tweets of such abusers.

She sent out a public note addressed to him saying that his rapist mentality has been displayed on this tweet. She said that he is as old as her father, a part of the country’s parliament; this makes him a role model that people will most likely follow. If he disrespects a woman like this by applauding a cyber bully; then this troll will practise the same with other women too.

To this, the MP apologised saying he must have “inadvertently” liked the tweet while scrolling without seeing what the tweet was. He also apologised for this irresponsibility behaviour.
He replied to Swara Bhasker on the same day.

“This act must have happened while inadvertently scrolling, for which I apologize. I have never had any purpose to hurt anyone's feelings. You can find out about my social and personal life by yourself.”

Swara Bhasker in turn graciously accepted the apology.
