Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to teach CBI how to improve positivity

At a time when the CBI is going through a crisis of tussle at the top, no one else than its interim Director Nageswara Rao can think of inviting a pro-BJP spiritual leader for a ‘positivity’ workshop

Just five days after Sri Sri Ravi Shankar preached at a Hindu saints (sadhus) conclave at the government-run Talkatora Stadium for voting back the Modi government to power, the CBI has invited him to conduct a "synergy programme" at its headquarter where even the media is barred these days. At the Sant Samiti conclave, Sri Sri had stressed that now nobody in the world can stop construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya.

At a time when the Government is trying to saffronise CBI which is going through a crisis of tussle at the top, no one else than its interim Director M Nageswara Rao can think of inviting a pro-BJP spiritual leader for the programme. The interim director’s extra-curricular activity is to work for "Hindu renaissance" and he often attends events organised by pro-RSS think-tanks such as the India Foundation and Vivekananda International Foundation.

Rao is close to key members of the RSS, including its pracharak-turned BJP general secretary Ram Madhav, who runs India Foundation. He was also active in formulating a Charter of Key Hindu Demands that was released on September 23 by a group of activists and scholars.

A notice has been put up saying "CBI organises 3-day workshop through Art of Living Foundation." It says: "Over 150 officers, from the rank of Inspectors up to Incharge Director, CBI will be attending the programme at CBI (HQ), New Delhi."

The notice elaborates: "To build synergy, competency and positive outlook, CBI is organising a 3-day Workshop (on 10th, 11th and 12th November, 2018) through the Art of Living Foundation of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar under the Art of Living -- Synergy Programme.

"The purpose of the workshop is to improve positivity, enhance synergy and generate a healthy atmosphere in the agency and motivate the staff to achieve their full potential."

Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Bhushan says he was not surprised. He tweeted: "soon we will see tantriks, astrologers & snake charmers in CBI!"
