Singer Mika Singh detained in Dubai for sending obscene pic to 17-year-old

Indian Singer Mika Singh has been detained in United Arab Emirates on an alleged sexual harassment complaint.

A member of Mika Singh’s troupe said a girl had accused the singer of harassment. The Bollywood singer has been allegedly accused of sending an inappropriate photo to a 17-year-old Brazilian girl.

Singh has sought consular access and the embassy staff is working on his case, Indian Ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Singh Suri was quoted as saying in the report.

He is being questioned by the police. According to sources, the singer was detained at 3 am on Friday from Bur Dubai.

Mika Singh is currently lodged in the Muraqqabaat police station after a 17-year-old Brazilian girl filed a complaint.

Mika had gone to Dubai to perform at a Bollywood event.

Earlier this week, the ‘Aaj Ki Party’ singer took to his Instagram account to share a video from Dubai. “Hey Dubai.. I’m in your city and it’s the 1st time I’m here to attend the most popular awards the Masala Awards. See you tonight!” he wrote in the caption.

This is not the first time that the singer has been facing charges of inappropriate behaviour. In 2016, he had made fun of the surname of actress Diana Penty during an event to unveil the music of a movie. During the event, Mika had said “she is Diana Panty, I am Mika Kachcha”, which shocked everyone present. Althout Diana kept quite at that time, later she objected to it, saying “I don’t find these jokes funny. I don’t even understand how people laugh at such comments.”

In 2016 again, a Mumbai-based model had filed a complaint of molestation against the singer. Mika then lodged a counter-complaint against her alleging extortion.

In 2015, Mika Singh was arrested and released on bail for allegedly assaulting a doctor during one of his concerts in Delhi. The singer had slapped Dr Shrikant, an ophthalmologist posted at the Ambedkar Hospital, who had then reportedly suffered internal injury inside his left ear.

He has also been accused of forcibly kissing the actress Rakhi Sawant at a birthday bash in 2006. The kiss created a hullabaloo and even dragged Mika Singh to the court.
