RLSP Upendra Kushwaha: Some in NDA don’t want Modi as PM 

RLSP chief and Union Minister of State for HRD Upendra Kushwaha on Friday said that some people in the BJP-led NDA did not want to see Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister again in 2019.

With an unofficial seat-sharing formula for NDA in Bihar floated by BJP on Thursday leaving only two seats for Union minister Upendra Kushwaha’s RLSP, he is likely to snap ties with NDA and join the RJD-led grand alliance, which has reportedly promised six seats to his party.

Kushwaha refused to reveal the names of ‘these’ people and said everything will be known at the appropriate time.

“In NDA (National Democratic Alliance), there are some people who don't want Modiji to become the Prime Minister again. Such people intentionally spread rumours to trigger conflicts within the NDA,” said Kushwaha.

Kushwaha had stirred the political cauldron in Bihar by hinting at a possible coming together of the Yadavs and the Kushwahas. “If milk from the Yaduvanshis (Yadav community) and rice from the Kushwahas get mixed, kheer can be prepared,” he had said at a public function on Sunday.

Clarifying his 'kheer theory', the Kushwaha said that his statement was not directed at any party, and he was ‘talking about the collective votes of the society in general’. He said that he will help gather votes for PM Narendra Modi. “Our party will launch a social movement paigam-e-kheer in Patna from September 25,” he said, adding that his kheer theory, which was 'blown out of proposition', will be served at the event.

He said his party wanted Modi to become the Prime Minister again after the 2019 polls. The Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) is a BJP ally.
