Prime Minister Narendra Modi who famously vowed “Na khaunga, na khane dunga” stands exposed for his duplicity once again.
Election affidavit filed by the PM on Friday as the BJP candidate for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, shows that he does not follow what he preaches.
As per the affidavit, Modi had gifted himself a plot in a posh locality in Ahmedabad when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Investigative magazine The Caravan has claimed that the PM paid only ₹10 lakhs to acquire the plot. However, the current value of the plot is estimated is to be over ₹1 crore.

BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi, who had appeared as the counsel for the state of Gujarat, deliberately hid this fact in submissions to the Supreme Court, claimed The Caravan.
“Lekhi told the apex court that no fresh land allotments had taken place in Gujarat after the year 2000. Modi first became eligible to receive government land in 2001, when he was appointed the chief minister of Gujarat. He entered the legislative assembly in February 2002, when he won a by-election in the state’s Rajkot-II constituency,” reads the report published by the investigative magazine.
Former journalist Saket Gokhale has recently filed a petition in the Supreme Court against omission in PM’s election affidavits. He sought SIT probe into the matter also.
As per the PIL filed by Gokhale, in an election affidavit filed in 2007, Modi declared that he was the sole owner of Plot 411, in Sector 1, Gandhinagar, in Gujarat while his subsequent election affidavits—filed in 2012 and 2014 - does not have any mention of the plot.
