Plea in SC for CBI probe into connection between deaths of Sushant and former manager Disha Saliyan

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking to unearth the alleged connection between the deaths of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his former Manager, Disha Saliyan, legal news website LiveLaw.in has reported.

The Petitioner, advocate Puneet Kaur Dhanda has approached the top court stating that Saliyan's death in June, 2020, followed by Rajput's alleged suicide a week later, "creates suspicion".

"Both died in suspicion circumstances and at the peak of their successful professional career and as per the statements of witnesses they both were upset as some projects of them were sabotaged," the plea states.

The Petitioner has also raised questions about the suspicious circumstances under which Saliyan's case file came to be "deleted by accident" by the Mumbai Police.

It is alleged that when the Bihar Police reached out to the Mumbai Police to seek details about Saliyan's death, so as to investigate any links between the two deaths, the Mumbai Police told the Bihar Police that the description of Disha's case has been 'deleted by accident' and cannot be retrieved.

It is further the case of the Petitioner that denial of access to laptop to the Bihar Police so as to retrieve the data raises more suspicion and the matter requires immediate attention.

She has pleaded the Court to direct the Mumbai Police to place on record the Detailed Investigation Report of. Saliyan's case. He has also prayed for a CBI probe into both the deaths.

"The petitioner wants a fair trial in their murder case without the interference of politicians. Because for investigation of serious, sensational and organized crime under the Indian Penal Code and other laws on the requests of state governments or on the orders of the Supreme Court and High Courts CBI Inquiry can be conducted," the plea states.

She has also sought that the Bihar Police be allowed to operate and continue investigation in Mumbai, without any interference from the local Police.

Notably, investigation in Rajput's case has already been transferred to the CBI.
