Hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi slammed the prime minister for his lack of courage to name China in context of the ongoing stand off between the two countries in Ladakh. He was addressing the media at Wayanad in Kerala.
Reiterating that PM Modi lied to the nation over Chinese incursion, Rahul highlighted contradictions in the government’s approach towards the crisis.
“The PM is lying to the nation. Earlier he said no one has entered into our territory but the army is having meetings with the PLA while the Defence Ministry thinks otherwise,” said Rahul Gandhi while addressing the media in Wayanad, Kerala.
“I want to hear from the PM when the Chinese army will leave India? It was shocking for me. By which date they will be thrown out? I can guarantee you the PM does not have courage to tell that,” added Rahul.

Saying that PM’s inability allowed a foreign power (China) to take over 122 sq kms of our country, Rahul attacked the ruling BJP for failing in dealing with domestic issues as well.
“Chinese dared to do this because BJP destroyed India’s economy, they mishandled Covid, because they took every opportunity to divide this country and which is why we have a foreign power occupying 1200 sq kms of our land,” asserted Rahul who is visiting his constituency to review COVID-19 situation.

Rahul Gandhi – who reached Wayanad on Monday on a three-day visit to his constituency, spread over the three districts of Malappuram, Wayanad and Kozhikode districts – will visit Mananthavady COVID-19 hospital on 21 October before leaving for Delhi from Kannur.
