The Aligarh administartion is on high alert amid the call of a mahapanchayat (grand assembly) at the Tappal village on Sunday.
The police have blocked the entry points to Tappal to prevent people from reaching the village and have arrested six people for violating Section 144 of CrPC (prohibiting of assembly of four or more people), which is in force in the area. Police stopped the Hindu Manch activists going to Tappal at the Jalalpur police post.

Aligarh Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Akash Kulhari said that social media was being monitored and if anyone tried to spread rumours on the social media, they would be stritcly dealt with. Those forwarding the "Tappal Chalo" (move to Tappal) message on WhatsApp were being warned to desist from such activities, he said.
The police have already arrested all the four accused in the case.
