The Union government on Saturday issued new guidelines for the fifth phase of lockdown. Now, the guidelines are more focused on which sectors will be opened. Ministry of Home Affairs has elaborated upon three phases during which various sectors, industries and activities will be started gradually. Hence more than the lockdown instructions, they seem to be the ‘unlocking’ guidelines.
Here are the details of the instructions released by the MHA:

Phase I:
Religious places and places of worship for public; hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services; and shopping malls; will be permitted to open from June 8, 2020. Government will be issuing guidelines in this regard.

Schools, colleges, educational/ training/ coaching institutions etc., will be opened after consultations with States and UTs. Teachers, parents, institutes will be consulted and on the basis of their feedback, this decision will be taken in July.

Dates for their opening of International air travel of passengers; operation of Metro Rail; cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks etc will be decided based on the assessment of the situation.
