During the much awaited conversation between the mediators and protesters, a woman of Shaheen Bagh says, We are ready to meet the PM and hug him but he should be willing to come.

When other protests were happening such as JP aandolan did and Anna aandolan, did anyone question the right to protest or even file a case?, asks Shaheen Bagh protester.

Shaheen Bagh protester asks, We are okay with NPR also if it is done on the same lines as done 15 years ago.

“There have been so many protesters who have come, both Hindus and Muslim. Before the elections there were so many fake news about us that was spread. There is an attempt to curb our freedom,” says Protester.

We have been here for two months, but is anyone in the Govt listening? We are forced to sit here because this is a question of our rights. Detention camps are being built and it is being built for our sisters and brothers, says Protester.

Such unfairness is happening, Protester added.

Sanjay Hegde ask protesters, Is your fear that if you move from here no one from the government will come and speak to you?

“We will come. The SC will come and we will place your prayer in front of the SCWe are hoping a solution will come forth from you. We request that all of you trust us,” says Sanjay Hegde.

We are all living in this country together not to create problems for other but yo help and co-exist. SC is saying that everyone has the right to protest but the place of the protest should not inconvenience others, say Sanjay Hegde.

They have asked for the road where the people are sitting to be cleared, but the people are refusing to move, says Sadhana.

“We will try to solve the problem but if it cannot be solved, we will go back to the Supreme Court. We want the solution to come from here itself,” she added.

Mediator Sadhana Ramachandran says, Neither Sanjay Hegde nor I want the protest to stop. Today the matter is the about your right to protest and the SC understands that every citizen has the right to protest.

One of the issues is that the road the road and that is why the SC has sent us to talk to you, she further added.

In India if there are women like you, the country is in safe hands. As Indian citizens we have to be mindful of what we discuss, says Sadhana.

We have understood what your demands are. The matter of CAA and NRC are currently in the Supreme Court. It will be heard soon, she added.

We can’t say now what will happen to the case. We don’t know if the SC will listen to you or to the government. We can’t speak about it, says Sadhana.

We had promised that we would come today because you had requested us to come. But, today we have to think and speak carefully about certain matters, says Sadhana Ramachandran.

A Delhi court on Thursday sought response from Tihar jail authorities on a plea by one of the four death row convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, seeking better treatment for his claimed mental illness, schizophrenia and head and arm injuries.

Two elderly coronavirus patients from a quarantined cruise ship off Japan have died, media reports said on Thursday, citing a government source.

Nineteen people, including six women, were killed when a Kerala state government bus collided head-on with a container lorry near Tamil Nadu's Avanashi town in Tirupur district, 40 kms from, on Thursday, officials said.
