The last rites of CDS Gen Bipin Rawat, Madhulika Rawat, and Brig LS Lidder were performed yesterday.

7,992 new Covid cases, 393 deaths in last 24 hours

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India reported 7,992 new Covid cases, 9,265 recoveries and 393 deaths in the last 24 hours, reported ANI. This takes the active caseload tp 93,277, which is the lowest in 559 days, while 131.99 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far.

Delhi witnessed this season's coldest night on Dec 10 at 8.3 degrees Celsius

According to the India Meteorological Department, last night was the coldest night of this season in Delhi with the temperature plummeting to 8.3 degrees Celsius, reported ANI.

Farmers vacate Delhi borders as protest ends

ANI reported that farmers vacated the Singhu border area after announcing to suspend their year-long protest against the three farm laws & other related issues. Protesting farmers also took down their tents at Ghazipur border (Delhi-UP border) and removed their settlements from the Tikri border.

Section 144 imposed in Mumbai on 11-12 Dec due to Omicron

ANI reported that the Maharashtra government has imposed Section 144 CrPC in Mumbai on the 11th and 12th December, in wake of Omicron cases in the state. Rallies/morchas/processions etc of either persons or vehicles are prohibited. The state has a total of 17 Omicron cases so far.
