While BJP’s chief ministerial candidate for Karnataka assembly elections BS Yeddyurappa has seen a 12% increase in his assets since the 2013 elections, his educational qualifications have taken a considerable dip in the past few years.
During 2013 state assembly elections in Karnataka, the 75-year-old BJP leader showed a BA (Bachelor of Arts) from Bangalore University as educational qualification. However in 2014, and again in 2018, Yeddyurappa—who has filed his nomination papers for the Shikaripura Assembly constituency—in his election affidavit says he has done a Pre-University Course (PUC) from Government College Mandya, Mysore University in the year 1960-61. This is also known as Plus-two, ie, 12th pass.
The relevant portions of Yeddyurappa’s affidavits, accessed from myneta.info, can be seen below:

Currently an MP from Shivamogga, Yeddyurappa, had floated his own outfit, Karnataka Janata Paksha after he was expelled from the BJP in 2012 on corruption charges. In 2014, he was again taken into party fold by the BJP and won a Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket.
According to his affidavit filed for the current assembly election 2018, Yeddyurappa’s assets increased by ₹71 lakh since the 2013 elections. His total assets are ₹6.54 crore, including 13-acre land at Shikaripur, two commercial buildings, two houses in Shikaripur and Bengaluru, and two pieces of non-agricultural land in Shiralakoppa and Bengaluru.
In 2013, he had 17 cases against him, which have now come down to three. While the charge of criminal misconduct and transfer of land subject to matter of acquisition proceedings remain, he has two new cases for “undue influence on voters” during the Gundlupet by-election held in 2017.
Yeddyurappa has informed the media that he has already invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his oath-taking ceremony as Chief Minister on the auspicious date of May 17.
