Earlier, Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party took it’s war with erstwhile ally BJP over denial of special status to Andhra Pradesh, across the border into Karnataka. Times Now had reported that Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and senior TDP leader KE Krishna Murthy travelled to Karnataka to campaign among Telugu-speaking voters, to vote for “anybody but Modi” in the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections, slated for May 12.

ANI quoted the Deputy CM as saying “Telugu people should remember how PM Modi cheated them. Telugu speaking population in Karnataka shouldn't vote for BJP during upcoming assembly elections.”

Telugu speakers form a significant section of assembly seats in Hyderabad Karnataka region in the north-east part of the state bordering Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, including the districts of Bidar, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Gulbarga and Bellary.
