Ministry of Human Resource and Development (HRD) has asked the Vice-Chancellors of all the Central Universities to make arrangements for the live streaming of an event, scheduled to be addressed by PM Modi on Tuesday in Delhi.
The event “Pariksha Pe Charcha 2.0” is the second edition of a programme that was conceptualized by the HRD Ministry to resolve exam related worries and stress.
Analysts believe, however that the aim of the event is to reach out to the electorates ahead of the Lok Sabha polls 2019.
“It is a sort of a soft campaigning,” said an observer on the condition of anonymity.
Signed by GC Hosur, Joint Secretary (HRD ministry), the letter asks Vice-Chancellors of all Central universities “to make logistic arrangements for the viewing of the event on 29.01.2019 for the wider dissemination.”
“To unleash creativity of students, a unique interaction programme Pariksha Pe Charcha 2.0 has been scheduled on 29 Jan, 2019 at 11 AM at Talkatora, New Delhi. Under this programme, students, parents, teachers and Hon’ble Prime Minister will come together to discuss exams, life and more,” reads the letter.

According to sources, over 2000-300 students are expected to take part in the event on Tuesday. Nearly 1000 students have arrived in Delhi, claimed the source.
Apart from the Indian students and parents, people from the Indian Diaspora will also participate in the event through video conferencing, cited the letter.
As per sources, students of Indian origin living in Middle Eastern countries including Russia and Singapore will be taking part in the interaction.
A short film highlighting the steps taken by the HRD Ministry to reduce exam related worries will be screened ahead of the PM’s speech at the event, claimed an informed source.
Observers believe interaction with students is just another show to wax brand NaMo which has been on the wane for quite some time. It is important to recall Modi has also written a book called “Exam Warriors” on the same topic. Publisher of the book, Penguin has branded it as “a non-preachy, practical and thought-provoking handy guide for students in India and across the world.”
