The heat of Sunday evening’s JNU violence was felt in Panjab University campus in Chandigarh where hundreds of students held a protest on Monday.
The angry students raised slogans against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), RSS and its students wing Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) that is alleged to be behind the violence in JNU.
The students also disrupted Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gian Chand Gupta when he was addressing a seminar on the topic ‘Women's Participation in Decision Making’.

Holding banners and placards, the students belonging to some Left-leaning student bodies, shouted slogans against the BJP’s Union government when the Haryana speaker Gian Chand Gupta was addressing the seminar.
The protesters were forcibly taken out of the seminar hall by the security personnel.
Later while talking to media, Gupta described the students’ protest “a predetermined act”, adding that everybody has the right to speak, but in a decent way. He claimed that those “trying to break the country” had organised this protest.

The chairperson of the National Commission for Women, Rekha Sharma, who also attended the seminar, said, “This is a free country. The students put forth their views.” Sharma said as far as the JNU violence was concerned, the Union Home Ministry had taken a cognisance of it. "I will meet the girls injured in this incident,” she said.
A student leader of the university, Kanupriya, slammed the centre government for the violence on the JNU campus.

The Chandigarh Administration has deployed heavy police force at the university campus to prevent any untoward incident after the protests.
