In a surprising case of mass cheating in a standard 12 exam in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, a total of 959 class students were found involved in cheating incident
The news came to light when it was observed that students attempted same questions and made same mistakes. According to a report in Times of India, it is one of the single largest incident of mass copying from Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

Inspite of stringent measures taken to keep an eye on mass cheating, the incident has occurred. Subsequently, the results of these students have been withheld till 2020 and they have failed in the subjects in which cheating was suspected.
Suspicion rose over the matter when it was observed that a large number of students wrote the same answers for the same questions and even made the same mistakes. As per the report, economics, English literature and statistics were the subjects in which the students are suspected to have cheated.

These exam centres were mainly in Junagadh and Gir-Somnath districts. At one of these centres, 200 students wrote an essay titled 'Dikri Ghar Ni Divdi (daughter is earthen lamp of the family)' in the exact same way from beginning to end.
According to some news reports, some students have informed a committee that the answers to the questions were dictated to them by the teachers in the centers.
