Dynast Piyush Goyal attacks Rahul Gandhi for being a dynast

Union Minister Piyush Goyal, after Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted asking him to resign due to alleged irregularities, decided to lash back with a personal attack on Rahul. Goyal said “ Till 26th May 2014, before I became a Minister, I was a professional Chartered Accountant & investment banker. Unlike you, Mr Rahul Gandhi, I have not learnt well the art of living without working. I am also a kaamdaar (worker) and not a naamdaar (dynast) ”

However, Piyush Goyal conveniently forgot to mention that he himself is a dynastic politician, both of whose parents where elected BJP representatives. His own biography on his own official website says “His father, Late Vedprakash Goyal was Union Minister of Shipping, and the National Treasurer of the BJP for over two decades. His mother Chandrakanta Goyal was elected thrice to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Mumbai.”

Senior journalist Swati Chaturvedi was quick to call Goyal out on his hypocrisy, pointing out that he is a minister and BJP treasurer as was his father. Another Twitter user pointed out his mother too was a BJP MLA.
