Many in the media who had reported that Maken had resigned, went on to speculate that now a Congress-AAP alliance would materialise soon in Delhi.

Two former ministers of the erstwhile Shiela Dixit government have also denied news of Makan's resignation, terming it "baseless and speculative"

Senior Delhi Congress leaders including Harun Yusuf and Arvinder Singh Lovely are expected to address a presser on the issue later on Tuesday afternoon.

Many in the media who had reported that Maken had resigned, went on to speculate that now a Congress-AAP alliance would materialise soon in Delhi.

Maken has opposed any kind of electoral understanding  with AAP in Delhi. And according to sources, he even apprised Congress president Rahul Gandhi about the same. Based on inputs from the Delhi wing of the party, Rahul Gandhi has also opposed any alliance with the AAP in principle, a highly placed source in the party told NH.
