"When German dictator Adolf Hitler was losing popularity among citizens, he pushed them into liquor and drugs by cutting its cost by half. Similarly, the Narendra Modi government is pushing youths into the trap of drugs by turning a blind eye on the huge consignment of heroin that arrived at Adani Mundra port ," said senior Congress leader from Gujarat, Shaktisinh Gohil in a scathing attack on the Union government over its silence on seizure of about 3,000 kg heroin recovered from Adani Port on September 13.
"Just like Hitler did to Germans, the Modi government wants to throw Indian youth into drugs, so that they can also forget about the country and remain devoted to him," Rajya Sabha MP Gohil said addressing a press conference in Bhopal on September 29.

About 3,000 kgs of heroin worth Rs 21,000 crore was seized from the Adani Mundra port in Gujarat on September 13, according to media reports. The consignment was allegedly sent in the garb of Semicut Talcum Powder by Afghanistan-based Mesars Hassan Hussain Limited to Indian company Ashi Trading via Iran.
The owners of Ashi Trading Company were arrested later this month in this case.
The drug consignment was shipped for Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh and it should have been sent to ports situated in the South, close to Andhra Pradesh, but it landed in Adani Mundra port, Gujarat. Using the Ashi Trading, a small trading company, this huge consignment of heroin reportedly came to Adani port. But when the consignment was seized, the owners of the small trading company were made scapegoat to hide the names of Indian drug lords who are thriving with the support of current regime, Gohil alleged.
He also pointed out that the government institutions like Narcotics Control Bureau and intelligence bureau are either turning a blind eye or made to keep shut over the huge drug haul. "This was the port which was used by the terrorists of 2008 Mumbai attack to reach the coastal city Mumbai. Despite all this, the union Government left the national security on the mercy of Adani," Gohil alleged.

Gohil said that during Congress rule in the Centre, the government had given huge funds for improving security of the coastal areas and to increase the patrolling along the coastlines of Gujarat. The CAG in its report had commented that boats were now lying unused.
AICC spokesperson Shakti Gohil said, "The party demands that this matter should be probed by the two sitting judges of the Supreme Court”.
Raising a slew of questions over the seizure of such a large quantity of drugs, the Congress leader questioned the silence maintained by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah silent over it. Gohil further asked "Why was Gujarat port chosen for this deal? Where have the seized drugs vanished? Is it not a ploy to push the youth of the country into the drugs net? Who are the forces involved in this game?"

Again comparing prime minister Modi with Hitler, Gohil said, "When Modi came to power in Gujarat, first he tried to lift the ban on liquor. Seeing backlash, he made amendments in the laws and replaced stringent laws for drinking and manufacturing liquor with just ineffective ones. As a result, the liquor is easily available in Gujarat."
