A strange condition was placed by a girl's family before the groom-to-be, a BJP leader from West Bengal just before the wedding. The girl's family asked the 27-year-old BJP leader Zainul Abedin to give up his party membership before marriage. The girl's family said that Zainul has to choose one thing; either marriage or the party.

According to a report in a Hindi news portal Jansatta, the elder brother of the girl said that the marriage was finalised but as soon as his parents came to know that Zainul was associated with the BJP. They refused to get their daughter marry Zainul.

Zainul, who lives in the Dinhata subdivision of Cooch Behar, is the district secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM). The girl also belongs to this division. The girl's brother stated, "Their (the groom’s) family is very good and well established. There is no doubt that my sister will be very happy after marriage. But this is the only reason for our parents to refuse this proposal."

the bride’s brother further said, "Our family does not like to be involved in politics and during past few days, we have seen some people die due to politics in Cooch Behar. We do not want our brother-in-law to be in politics. We all know about BJP very well and he is not just a worker in the party. He is a prominent face of the party. When our parents came to know about this, they refused the proposal. There is no other reason for breaking this marriage. "

Such a statement by the girl's family has made Zainul worried. Commenting on this Zainul said, "I do not understand what to do. Both families have fixed this marriage. Some customs have already taken place. Now they are saying that they do not like politics and they do not particularly like BJP, so now they do not want this marriage to take place. ”
