A case of gangrape has been registered against 15 people including a former MLA, a BJP leader and another RSS pracharak in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. On November 5, a woman had attempted to immolate herself along with her two daughters in front of UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s residence.
The police promptly stopped them from committing suicide. The woman has alleged that several political leaders had gangraped her mother and sister. According to the woman, one of the accused is allegedly a relative of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
In her video, the woman has stated that former MLA Gajanan Singh, RSS leader Bhanupratap Singh, Satyendra Singh and BJP’s Rae Bareli district president RP Singh were involved in the rape case. The woman has alleged that RP Singh is a relative of Rajnath Singh.
But despite the complaint, the police had not taken any action in this matter. Eventually, after the woman’s immolation bid, the Rae Bareli police registered the case against 15 people.
Speaking to NH, PRO of Rae Bareli unit, Sub-inspector Yadunath said, “We have registered the complaint as per the version of the woman. We have filed the case against all accused.”

In this video, which was shared on November 7, the woman can be heard accusing the police of not filing the case. “The case is not being registered because BJP MLAs are involved in the gangrape of my younger sister and mother. My father is no more. My brother was murdered. FIR has not been registered in any case,” said the woman
She alleged that she had given a written complaint to the Rae Bareli police several times. “The police officials share meals with these leaders and don’t pay heed to our requests. We are forced to leave the police station. No one is listening to us. So, we tried to immolate ourselves,”said the woman.
