Dim Sum Festival for dumpling lovers

Dim Sum festival is boasting 40 diverse types of momos with an interesting twist of Cocktail.

The lovers of steamed dumplings are not ready to be a part of the declared war against Momos launched recently by a senior BJP leader Ramesh Arora. While Arora insists that momos are more dangerous than alcohol and psychotropic drugs, people are looking forward to relishing the flavours of momos throughout the monsoon at Dim Sum Festival in Mumbai.

Organised by a restaurant Shiro, the unique festival is boasting 40 diverse types of Dim sums. The menu includes vegetarian, non-vegetarian as well as vegan dim sums, available in sharing baskets with choices of four, six and nine variants.

“I don’t find any point to protest against a dish, the concept of the festival is unique. I am excited about the festival and it would be a treat for me to get 40 different types of momos on one table,” said Neha, a momo lover.

An interesting twist of cocktail to the signature preparations like Spicy Broccoli and Water Chestnut Dumplings, Mushroom and Cream Cheese Dumplings with Truffle Broth, Hoisin Duck Dumplings, Chicken Pearl Dumplings, Curried Prawns Gua Bao Dumpling, Edamame & Truffle Dumpling, there’s plenty to leave spoilt for choice.

Speaking about the Festival, Chef Rahul Hajarnavis, Culinary Director, Shiro, said “We believe in creating never-had- before experiences. We thought monsoon would be the perfect time to introduce a festival celebrating dim - sums. We have played with our offerings to appease a variety of preferences and design an interesting palate of 40 dim sums.”

The restaurant has experimented with various ingredients and have brought in some brilliant dim sums like Kung pao flavoured dumplings, Phoenix eye Dumpling, Chicken Pearl dumpling, prawns & Bell Pepper dumplings, xiao long bao chicken dumpling- the traditional soup dumpling & more.

Feast on food menu will be paired with some unique cocktails like Peach Thai Chilli Martini, Thai chilli, lime juice and vodka, Grapefruit & Elderflower Martini that comes replete with some of the favourite flavours like fresh pink grapefruit juice and homemade Elderflower syrup served in a chilled martini glass, Rosemary & Pomegranate Martini with grenadine, fresh rosemary and pomegranate juice and Vanilla & Sweet Sherry Martini consisting of sherry wine, maple syrup, angostura bitters, vanilla syrup and orange peel.

The fest promises to be lip smacking. Each variant is handpicked to tantalise taste buds. The festival will start on July 7 and go on till August 31. It will be held across Shiro outlets in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
