As the migrants waited, some men in protective suits came and began spraying water on them.
They claimed to be from sanitization team and sanitized the crowd
"The children began crying and women were also shocked", said a migrant
The sanitizing team sprayed the group with a diluted mixture of sodium hypochlorite.
Sodium Hypochlorite is the main ingredient in laundry bleach.
It is used extensively as a bleaching agent in the textile, detergents
It is also used as a disinfectant and often used in paper and pulp industries.

The chemical had a strange smell and some women also developed rashes
None of the officials in Bareilly and Lucknow, however, have commented on the incident.
Calls made to the Bareilly district magistrate's office did not elicit any response.
Officials in Lucknow also did not respond to queries on the incident.
