The jubilee queen of the 1960s and 1970s who churned out hits in her heydays as though they were going out of fashion, turned 77 with minimum fanfare on October 2.

"Two of my dearest friends Nanda and Sadhana are gone. Last year I lost (actress) Shammi my closest friend. I still have close friends Helen and Waheeda Rehman. But we are a dwindling group".
