Phullu, a film on menstruation awareness has been given ‘A’ certificate by CBFC. The bitter taste that banning of three short films in the Kerala Film Festival left had not even faded and there came the ‘A’ certificate for a film which is primarily aimed at making people aware about a natural phenomenon of a human body.
Directed by Abhishek Saxena, the film releases on 16th June. But the film buffs and film fraternity both are annoyed by the CBFC’s ‘A’ certificate. Most of them took to twitter to voice their agitation.

The fact remains that there is an urgent need to educate adolescents about menstruation cycle and an ‘A’ certificate film will not be of much help in making the film reach its target audience.
Another issue that sprung with the ‘A’ certificate to this film was R Balki directed soon-to-be released film on the same issue called Padman starring Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte. Padman has already been hyped a lot. And now it is a question everybody is wondering about- Will Padman too suffer the same fate as Phullu?

Another feather in superstar Salman Khan’s already decorated cap- wrestling drama Sultan, starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma, has been shortlisted to compete in one of the categories at the Shanghai International Film Festival this June.
Sultan has been selected in the Jackie Chan Action Movie Week section where awards are given by the combined means of judge assessment and audience vote.
“As a film, Sultan is a home grown story of a fighter and an underdog rooted in our country’s soil. The film’s action reflects this and has won popular opinion over in India.
“That China, a nation with a proud legacy of cinema and a priceless heritage of classic action and martial arts, has found it suitable to feature in an action competition section is huge gratification to us. We are excited and proud to be part of Shanghai International Film Festival,” director Ali Abbas Zafar said.
‘Sultan’ has also been screened at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival and the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
