The ace casting director says, "Mumbai Diaries 26/11 is a special project as it’s set in the backdrop of that nightmarish night but talks about a story which has never been covered before. It is set inside a hospital that is under immense pressure to save lives with patients coming in by the minute. It’s definitely not a regular day in the lives of our medical heroes. When I heard the one-liner of the show, I was thrilled as well as nervous since I had witnessed that night very closely. I was celebrating an awards night with my colleagues around that area when everything changed. The feeling was as personal as it could be since that night turned my outlook towards life forever. The show also touches upon the moral dilemma that a doctor could face in such a situation as they are treating the victims as well as the terrorists and also people who they’ve known. Moreover, it unfolds the personal layers of the characters as well. Casting Mumbai Diaries 26/11 had to have a holistic approach. I wanted the actors to feel everything personally. The empathy, the pain, the vulnerability, the nervousness, and the authenticity of bringing the characters to life. It’s an ode to the frontline workers who are majorly unsung heroes. Using the right medical terms, the body language, and the sheer understanding of each nuance when you’re put in a situation like that is what I aimed at finding."
