Tell us a bit about your journey.
I started my career when I was in Dehradun. Sometime, I decided that I needed to go to Bombay as I thought I was born to be an actor. After sometime, I started getting TV ads. Then I got a role in Kumkum Bhagya which went on to become a popular show. Then I was offered a role in the film Baby, and that’s how exciting work started coming my way.
Was it difficult to be a part of Nach Baliye Season 9?
It was difficult mostly because the show required us to pair with our exes in personal life. It was a different concept. We had to dance with people we were once close with. I just wanted to experiment with this new concept and thought ‘why not give it a shot’. And that’s how I ended up being a part of the dance show.
What’s your opinion about quality of TV serials and Hindi soap operas?
It’s definitely getting better. Everybody likes romantic shows on TV. The channels try different content too but if it’s not liked by the audiences, then how can it be run? For example, 24 didn’t enjoy the popularity other soap operas did. So, I believe TV channels show whatever is being liked by the audience. The tastes of our audiences are also gradually changing.
What do you want to achieve?
I want to be a good actor. I want to do a lot of web shows and films. Hopefully I will reach there slowly
What are the projects you are working on at present?
One of my shows is India Strikes produced by Applause Entertainment Ltd. It’s a web series and it should be out by September.
Who do you consider as your inspirations?
I consider Madhuri Dixit and Sushmita Sen as my inspirations. They are the ones whom I saw on screen and decided that I wanted to be an actor.
