Priyanka’s production company, Purple Pebble Pictures, registered with a list of at least half a dozen films in the Cannes

Priyanka Chopra is all set to mark her presence in the field of film production. She already has a prolific career in acting both in Bollywood and Hollywood.


Priyanka’s production company, Purple Pebble Pictures registered with a slate of at least half of a dozen films in the Cannes. Films are in the works and soon to be on the floor.


The actress’s mother, Madhu Chopra who is also the managing director of the company unveiled the first look of the new Sikkimese film, Pahuna. The film is written and directed by Paakhi A Tyrewala and scheduled to release in October. Priyanka Chopra shared the poster of Pahuna on Twitter.

“We've been enthused by the success of Ventilator to step out into the big wide world of global independent cinema,” Madhu said at an event hosted by the India Pavilion here to unveil the first look of Pahuna.


The film is about three children who are separated from their parents while escaping from the Maoist violence in Nepal. The film is currently in post-production


Nalini, Little Joe, Kahan Ho?, Brishtir Opekhaye and a Bhojpuri film Bam Bam Bol Raha Hain Kashi are the other regional films that Priyanka Chopra’s production house has currently in the pipeline.

Brad Pitt promotes War Machine in India

Hollywood star Brad Pitt is in India to promote his upcoming dark comedy, War Machine, which releases on Netflix this Friday.


War Machine is on the absurdities of war, Pitt plays a US General posted in Afghanistan. The film is directed by David Michod and inspired by late journalist Michael Hastings's book, The Operators: The Wild & Terrifying Inside Story of America's War in Afghanistan. Michod changed the character's name because he did not want it to appear like a biopic on McChrystal.


This film is Netflix’s big-budget feature with an investment of $60 million.


Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan welcomed David Michod and Brad Pitt in a tweet.

The 53-year-old seemed curious about Bollywood films, he has also discussed with Shah Rukh Khan on the future of movie-making.


He last visited Mumbai and Pune for the shooting of Angelina Jolie's film A Mighty Heart. Recalling the time, Pitt said, “I would put a helmet on and roam around on an Enfield”.

Filmmaker Karan Johar, now a father of two—Yash and Roohi, turns 45 on Thursday. This will be Johar's first birthday after attaining fatherhood. Johar is planning to throw a birthday bash for his B-town friends whom he himself invited over the phone yesterday after returning from London.


The list includes Shah Rukh, Saif, Salman, Aamir, Akshay, Abhishek, Aishwarya, Deepika, Katrina, Anushka, Ranveer, Farhan among others. Sources close to the director-producer reveal, as part of the party preparations, a dance floor, DJ and Bar have been set up at Johar’s apartment.


Meanwhile, Johar has been receiving wishes on the social media.
