Entertainment: Akshay shares ‘Gold’ to celebrate Golden Jubilee

The International Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar is celebrating his 50th birthday on Saturday and to mark his golden jubilee, he treated his fans to a new poster of his upcoming Bollywood movie Gold.

Gold is based on the life of hockey player Balbir Singh, who was on the team that won the first Olympic medal for India in 1948. The film is all set to hit the theatres on August 15, 2018.

Twinkle Khanna wished Akshay by sharing a video of him where he is seen obeying daughter Nitara's order. When Nitara says, “Laugh”, Akshay bursts out in laughter and when she asks him to show his crying face, he weeps like a little kid.

Don’t want to sensationalise Raj Kapoor’s life: Rishi on biopic

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor says if a biopic is made on his father, legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor, the family would make sure his life is depicted in its truest sense and not sensationalised.

The 65-year-old actor says he understands that the present generation is curious about Kapoor's personal and professional life, but if a biopic is ever made, the story will be dealt with utmost care.

In an interview, Rishi said, “We don't want to do anything that would upset any family in the film industry. You can't make a biopic and not say things that happened other than work. There were relationships which I have said it in my book, you can't deny it at all, so why make it at all. I don’t want to hurt anybody's emotions or stir up hornet's nest, we don't want to sensationalise. We want the younger generation to know the real Raj Kapoor through his biopic.”

The actor opened up about Kapoor in his autobiography, Khullam Khulla: Rishi Kapoor Uncensored, where he also mentioned his father’s affair with yesteryear's actor Nargis Dutt.

Rishi says his sister once approached Sunil Dutt (Nargis’ husband) seeking permission to make a biopic on Kapoor, but “Dutt sahab just said one thing, ‘let sleeping dogs lie, let’s not stir up or upset anybody’.”

Hrithik, Karan campaigns for suicide prevention

On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day 2017, celebrities Karan Johar and Hrithik Roshan came out in support of preventing suicide in the country.

Hrithik on Saturday shared a video promoting the message that one should listen to a person for saving lives.

Karan also shared the same link and wrote a similar caption for the video. He also tagged Neerja Birla, Founder and Chairperson of Mpower, The Aditya Birla World Academy and The Aditya Birla Integrated School, reported a news agency.

Birla has started with the campaign and wrote on her Twitter account: "In honour of World Suicide Prevention Day join the #EarForYou movement. Listen it can save a life."

According to the official page of Mpower, their aim is "to empower individuals and their families dealing with mental health disorders by raising awareness, alleviating stigma, advocating prevention, fostering education, and providing world class holistic services, so that they can lead meaningful and productive lives, with respect and dignity."
