Entertainment: Amitabh sends legal notice to Kumar Vishwas

The superstar Amitabh Bachchan has sent a legal notice to AAP leader Kumar Vishwas, accusing him of “copyright infringement” for using a poem by the megastar’s late father, poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, in a video.

Amitabh retweeted on the uploaded video in which Kumar can be heard reciting a poem written by Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

In his legal notice, Bachchan has asked Kumar to take down the video and demanded an account of the revenue generated from the poem used in the video.

In response to the tweets by veteran actor, Vishwas wrote on on twitter account: “Rcvd appreciation frm all poet's family but Notice frm you Sir.Deleting the Tribute video to Babuji.Sending earned Rs 32 as demanded.Pranam”

The video, which featured Bachchan’s poem Nirman, was part of Vishwas’s programme Tarpan, was later deleted from YouTube.

Shah Rukh to receive Honorary Membership from Jodhpur Guide Association

Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been approached with an Honorary Membership by Jodhpur Tourist Guide Association of Rajasthan.

The association will honour the actor for playing a Tourist Guide in his upcoming film Jab Harry met Sejal.

The association will confer Shah Rukh with a membership and badge as a token to mark the association.

Ratan Singh Rathore, President of Jodhpur Tourist Guide Association, said, “We are very excited to bestow Shah Rukh Khan with an Honorary Membership at our Jodhpur Tourist Guide Association. It would be an honour to host him. It is a matter of pride that he would represent our profession in Jab Harry met Sejal. We are happy as he will bring recognition to the job of a Tourist Guide.”

Imtiaz Ali directorial Jab Harry met Sejal will feature SRK as a professional Tourist Guide in Canada. The actor will be seen exuding the fundamentals of a Guide.

The film is all set to release on August 4th.

Irrfan’s The Song of Scorpions at Locarno Fest

The Song of Scorpions, which stars Indian actor Irrfan Khan will have it’s world premiere at the 70th Locarno Film Festival.

The movie is directed by Anup Singh and the second collaboration between Irrfan and Anup after Qissa.

It also stars veteran actress Waheeda Rehman, Tillotama Shome and Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani.

Tomorrow and Thereafter will be the opening film and the festival will come to a close with the screening of a film by Kevin Merz titled, Gotthard - One Life, One Soul.

Actor and director Mathieu Kassovitz will receive the festival’s 2017 excellence award and Nastassja Kinski will be honoured with a lifetime achievement award.

The festival runs from August 2-12, in which as many as 18 films will compete for Golden Leopard 2017.

Ranbir will pay back distributors if his movie fails

After Salman Khan has decided to compensate Tubelight distributors as the film did not do well at the box office, Ranbir Kapoor has also said if he makes money out of a film which is failing at the box office, he will pay back the distributors.

When asked to comment on it, Ranbir said, “It has been going on since my grandfather’s (Raj Kapoor) time in 1950s... The style of making films where everyone makes money, not just the producers but also distributors and exhibitors.”

The actor said this during a special event of his upcoming Jagga Jasoos.

Jagga Jasoos has been co-produced by Disney, Ranbir and filmmaker Anurag Basu’s Picture Shuru Productions. The film will release on Friday.
